What is the Event Manager and what is
it used for?
Our multi-purpose Event Manager
allows you to create your very own intranet. Its great
for keeping track of meetings, events, etc. It also works well
as an archive tool.
Who administers the event manager and
what can he/she do with it?
The Event Manager is administered
by an "Admin" user.
This user has the ability to add categories/departments and
also assign specific users to have access to update individual
categories. This allows you, as the Admin, to delegate specific
category/department information to a specific user.
For example, the Admin could create
a category called "office hours"
and assign John Doe the task of keeping this portion of the
calendar up-to-date. Now when office hours are scheduled, John
Doe logs-in to the Event Manager and adds the schedule.
How can the Event Manager be used as an
archive tool?
When meetings and events are scheduled and completed, the Event
Manager can act as an archive tool. Imagine that John
Doe has scheduled a meeting with the staff. The meeting goes
great, but unfortunately some couldn't make it. So John Doe
goes home that night, writes up his meeting minutes and then
logs-in to the Event Manager and
posts the meeting minutes. Instantly, everyone knows what happened
that night. Now imagine 2 months go by and everyone forgot the
great opportunities that were discussed that night, simply access
the Event Manager and the staff
meetingcategory and go back to that date and you will be able
to access those meeting minutes and the wonderful opportunities
discussed!
